Choose the right export format for print

PNG vs. SVG vs. PDF vs. EPS vs. PDF-CMYK — which to send to your printer, and at what size.

PNG (1000×1000) — best for digital surfaces: web pages, social posts, screen presentations. Don't scale up — past 1000 pixels you'll see compression artefacts on dot edges.

SVG — best for medium-print quality and digital: scalable vector, sharp at any size, easy to edit in Figma / Illustrator. Most modern printers accept SVG.

PDF — universal print format. RGB colour space; suitable for desktop colour printers, brochure printers, and most digital print shops.

EPS — legacy print format still required by some commercial printers and design agencies. Identical content to SVG / PDF, just in PostScript.

PDF-CMYK — for offset and packaging printers. CMYK colour conversion is done at export time, so the output matches what the printer's plates will produce. Use this for cardboard packaging, food labels, and large signage.

For business cards, packaging, and stickers, send the printer your colour file (CMYK PDF preferred) at 1000×1000 px or larger; the QR works as small as 1.5 cm × 1.5 cm if scanned in good light.
